Divyam and Pooja

My journey into neurodivergent care began with a deeply personal challenge. When my younger son, Divyam, was first diagnosed, he was non-verbal. The early days of his therapy were filled with uncertainty, and I was told that he might never be able to speak. But as a mother, I held onto hope and remained committed to a path of relentless support. With determination and continuous effort, Divyam can now speak fluently in both Hindi and English. Today, he thrives as an independent teenager, and his progress from non-verbal to fluent stands as a powerful transformation—a journey from darkness to light, from uncertainty to hope, and from struggle to immense joy and achievement.

This journey not only deepened my understanding of the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent children and their families, but it also ignited a profound desire to offer similar support to others. I am deeply aware of the resilience and dedication required by parents on this journey and strive to provide empathy and guidance to those navigating a similar path.

Out of this vision, Divit Health was born. As Co-Founder, COO and CFO, my focus is on establishing Divit Health as a place of inspiration, support, and holistic care for neurodivergent children and their families. At Divit Health, we are committed to redefining healthcare for neurodivergent children through a comprehensive approach centered on each child’s well-being and unique potential. Our goals include establishing a state-of-the-art Child Development Center (CDC) and a ‘Residential school’ for children with special needs, designed to provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and develop independence.

Through Divit Health, I am committed to fostering a supportive community where families feel empowered, and every child is given the opportunity to flourish. Together, we are building a foundation for a brighter, more inclusive future for neurodivergent children and their loved ones.

Prakhar and Sonika

On August 31, 2002, I was blessed with a baby boy. As the first child in the family, his arrival brought immense joy to everyone. However, our happiness was short-lived when the doctors informed us that he had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, resulting in 70% physical disability and paralysis on the right side of his body. This moment profoundly changed my life. Faced with a list of things my son would supposedly never be able to do, I had a choice: give up due to his disabilities or focus on his abilities. I chose the latter.

Today, I am proud to introduce my son, Prakhar Sharma. Defying all odds, Prakhar is an international-level para table tennis player representing India. He is ranked 5th nationally and 3rd at the state level, representing Karnataka. Prakhar has excelled academically, completing his education up to graduation with flying colours in all milestone classes. He was also a member of his school basketball team, representing them at the zonal level.

Prakhar is a cycling enthusiast who participates in cycling marathons to raise awareness for para cyclists. He also loves spending time in the swimming pool. Despite the challenges, Prakhar has not only overcome the limitations imposed on him but has also achieved far beyond what anyone could have imagined.

Inspired by my personal journey with my son, I decided to share my story with other parents navigating similar paths. Driven by my passion for “Focus on the Abilities,” I committed to supporting institutions and individuals dedicated to fostering mental health development for special children. My mission is to provide comprehensive services that empower professionals and organizations with innovative strategies, resources, and expertise, enabling them to optimize care, education, and support for these exceptional children. Through DIVIT, I am dedicated to making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of special kids, promoting their holistic well-being and enhancing their opportunities for a brighter future.
